I think its bad fiscal policy. These tax cuts will do nothing to improve the lives of ordinary, working Americans. However, it would result in an average tax cut of $100,000 for our countries millionaires and billionaires. If Republicans were truly representing the American people they would have accepted Senator Schumer's compromise that would have extended tax cuts to those making at or below 1 million dollars. Instead, they continued with the obstruction until they secured their "corporate welfare" for the nation's richest citizens and corporations. This corporate welfare [in the form of tax cuts] will contribute hundreds of billions of dollars to the federal deficit, which will ultimately be paid by future taxation. This extension is actually a tax deferment. While today's wealthy American's sit back and enjoy these tax cuts, middle and upper class Americans of the future are going to get stuck footing the bill.
