A little dream ... Lottery megajackpot prompts chance to ponder 'what if'
There are lots of reasons to advise people not to succumb to the Mega Millions jackpot fever.
And there is still plenty to debate about lotteries in general.
But today, just for one day, these are millions of Americans dreaming about what they would do if they brought home $540 million.
And the good news is that many of them would not just blow it all on themselves. Most include some sort of good deed or charitable contribution. And while some of that is, of course, just trying to improve their odds through karma, the truth is most people probably would be more than willing to share.
So we will leave the dirty side of the lottery for another day's discussion.
Today, we will just allow a few more people to dream (as long as they do so responsibly).
