Fill the pantry: You helped us many times. Now local hungry need you.
The point does not need belaboring.
There are Wayne County families struggling to keep food on their tables -- and the organization that makes it its mission to help them does not have enough food to feed them.
And just like when we asked you to help stuff our bus with school supplies for local children, we need you again ... this time to help provide non-perishable food items.
No big spending necessary here. If you can give a little, it could help a lot. And if you have been blessed this year, the food pantry could use a few extra cans or jars of peanut butter.
The Salvation Army is a place of last resort for those who are hungry, and the need is real and the help managed responsibly.
So if you can help a little, please do.
We know if you can, you will.
