Bridget Behrens of Cuts-4-Muttz dog grooming salon poses with a couple of her clients. The best part of her job, she says, is meeting her dog clients and their humans. They become like family, she says.
Bridget Behrens started Cuts-4-Muttz dog grooming salon on Ash Street in May 2002 in honor of her grandmother, who she called "Mumsey." Her grandmother died around the time she opened the grooming salon.
"She left me money to start my dream. I miss her dearly, but somehow, I feel closer to her every time I walk through my door," said Ms. Behrens, who graduated from Fifi's School of Grooming in Winter Park, Fla., in 1998.
Cuts-4-Muttz offers special services and touches like tooth brushing, specialty shampoos, conditioners, nail polish and colognes — anything to make your best friend look absolutely the best.
And not only do the groomers provide bows and bandanas, but they also offer friendly and gentle service that makes even the shyest of pets feel right at home.
"We are a team here. We have very friendly service staff. We all love every dog that walks through our doors. (The doggie clients) are all unique with their own cute little personalities," Ms. Behrens said.
And the staff at Cuts-4-Muttz takes pride in providing their new canine friends with a special experience and the loving care they deserve.
And grooming is not all Cuts-4-Muttz offers.
Dog obedience classes are offered Monday nights by Born to Lead K-9 Academy, and Ms. Behrens hopes to soon be able to provide doggie daycare.
She has been in Wayne County 14 years now and says she has met some amazing people and friends.
"I am very attached to my customers and their doggies. I wouldn't want to be anywhere else," she said.
