The name of an award recipient at Wayne Memorial Hospital was incorrectly printed in Monday's paper. Mark Renfroe, manager of the clinical engineering department, received N.C. Biomedical Association's manager of the year award, not Brad Renfroe. The News-Argus apologizes for the error.
The News-Argus incorrectly reported that R.N. Rouse Construction Co. had built the Community Crisis Center at no cost. Adeen George, the center's director, says Rouse did the work at a reduced cost and received $58,000 in insurance money. Ms. George wanted it know that D.S. Simmons company had done the interior work and other projects for the center at a reduced cost. It received about $178,000 that the center borrowed, she said.
