The Main Event
will headline Jam
The Main Event Band will try to live up to its name in downtown Goldsboro Thursday evening.
The band will be making its first appearance at Center Street Jam, but it performs dozens of concerts each year in North Carolina and Virginia. The seven-member group plays a mix of beach music, soul, pop and rock.
The free concert will be from 5:30 to 8 p.m. at the Waynesborough House parking lot, off Center Street.
People may want to bring lawn chairs and/or dancing shoes. Concessions will include Pizza Inn, Nature's Finest Hot Dogs, barbecue from the Elks Lodge, and hamburgers and frozen drinks from Ham's Restaurant. Water, sodas and beer also will be available.
The next concert will feature the band, Coastline, on Thursday, June 16.
The Wayne County Chapter of the American Red Cross will hold a blood drive Thursday from 10:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Wayne County Public Library. Donors will receive a coupon for a free car wash.
