More than 250 airmen from Seymour Johnson Air Force Base will deploy to Southwest Asia over the next few weeks in support of Operations Iraqi Freedom and Enduring Freedom, U.S. Air Force officials announced late Friday.
The deployment will involve a number of destinations and will last between four and six months, according to a news release issued by the 4th Fighter Wing Public Affairs Office.
The deploying airmen will come from several squadrons and units from the base, according to the release.
Seymour Johnson has sent units to the Iraqi theater of war on several occasions since Operation Iraqi Freedom began in March, 2003.
