Damages were estimated at $16,850 Wednesday in two traffic accidents in Goldsboro, police reported.
*Damages were estimated at $6,300 in a two-vehicle collision at 5 p.m. Wednesday at South Dr. M.L. King Jr. Expressway, the U.S. 117 bypass, and West Elm Street. The driver of a large truck, Billy Glenn Tindal, 51, of Conway, was charged with a safe-movement violation. The report said he was making a U-turn and the back of the truck collided with a southbound car. The other driver was listed as Wade Durham III, 41, of Thunder Swamp Road, Mount Olive.
*Damages were set at $5,550 in a two-vehicle crash at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday on West Ash Street near North John Street. Dale Raymond Duncan II, 39, of Twin Drive, was charged with a yield violation. The report said Duncan was turning into a fast-food restaurant and his car collided with an eastbound pickup truck. Duncan's car then struck a power pole. The other driver was identified as Gerald Aubrey Lamm Jr., 34, of Wilson.
*A driver was charged with failure to reduce speed at 1 p.m. Wednesday after a two-car, rear-end wreck on Wayne Memorial Drive near Country Day Road, police said. Police reported that a car driven by April Marie Langston, 18, of North Center Street, Mount Olive, struck a stopped auto that was driven by Sepideh M. Jahrami, 22, of Buck Run Drive. Damages were put at $5,000.
Wayne County sheriff's deputies are investigating these reports:
*A DVD and video cassette recorder combination, clothing and two DVD movies were stolen Wednesday after a door was damaged at a home in the 200 block of Broadhurst Road. The resident, S.M. Lee, estimated the value of the stolen property at $470 and damage at $100.
*A Huskee lawn tractor with a 54-inch deck was stolen between Tuesday and Wednesday from a yard in the 100 block of Rowe Street. The resident, Thomas L. Williams, put a $3,000 value on the tractor.
*A television was stolen after a window was broken in a home in the 600 block of Durham Lake Road. The resident, Angeline Hill, said the TV was worth $150 and set damages at $100.
Goldsboro police are investigating these reports:
*Jewelry and $60 were stolen between Wednesday and dawn today after a window was broken in a home in the 1000 block of Evergreen Avenue. The resident, Sherita Smith, estimated the jewelry's value at $510 and damage at $5.
*A total of $67 was stolen Wednesday after a cabinet door was pried open at Nova Care Rehabilitation at 2607-C Medical Office Place. Damage was set at $40.
