Residents of Pikeville are planning a day of activities Saturday to raise money to benefit the victims of Hurricane Katrina.
The day's events will be held at Dees Memorial Park and will begin at 11 a.m. and continue until, said Jerry Schlenker, one of the organizers.
Festivities will include food and a variety of music, including gospel, bluegrass and rock 'n' roll, Schlenker said.
Donations of goods aren't being sought, only money. The donations will be given to the Salvation Army to be used toward hurricane relief efforts, Schlenker said.
