Mackenzie Wessels, one of two Greenwood Middle School eighth-graders injured Friday when they were hit by a vehicle while crossing the street, has been released from the hospital.
Mackenzie, 13, and his classmate, Carson Thomas, 13, were hit by an SUV driven by Luis Delgado Jesus, 23, Friday morning while crossing the street to get to school.
Jesus faces charges in connection with the crash.
Both boys were transported to Pitt Memorial Hospital, where they have remained since Friday.
