Seven more men have been arrested by Goldsboro police in the fourth phase of Operation Clean Streets and charged with soliciting for prostitution.
The arrests came a day after police had arrested eight more men and charged them with soliciting for prostitution.
Capt. Al King's C-shift concentrated on several areas in the city after receiving numerous complaints about prostitution. The last two phases have focused on the men who were picking up the women prostitutes.
King said undercover women police officers posed as prostitutes in several neighborhoods, resulting in nine charges. Two men were charged twice.
Each man was taken to the Wayne County Magistrate's Office, where they were formally charged. The detainees' bonds were set between $500 and $1,000. Those who could not post bond were placed in the Wayne County Jail.
King said police will continue to investigate prostitution complaints and added that further arrests were expected.
"I hope by now our message is clear," the captain said. "If you're in the business of prostitution or thinking about picking up a prostitute, think twice. The Goldsboro Police Department will do whatever it takes to shut down both the supply and the demand."
Twenty-one women were arrested and charged during the first two phases of the operation in early June.
The latest arrests included:
*Ronald Wayne Merritt, 52, of Charlotte.
*Joshua Matthew Frazier, 27, of Fort Run Road, Pikeville.
*Mitchell Daniels, 29, of Stronach Avenue, two counts.

*Jemines Selvan Selvan, 24, of Kinston.
