MONDAY IS LAST DAY FOR CHEAP MAILING: Airman Chris Delsid is assisted by Postal Service Supervisor Danny Thibeaux at the post office on Cashwell Drive as he ships some packages to loved ones for the holidays. Delsid, like many across the base, Goldsboro and Wayne County, knew with both the Christmas and Hanukkah holidays in sight, it was time to send gifts out. Officials at the Wayne County Post Master's office said Monday will be the busiest day of the year as those letters and packages sent via standard mail need five to seven days to reach locations within the United States. Still, some are recommending that residents use the priority mail service, which takes between two and three days and only costs "a few pennies more." And for those who don't mind spending more money, packages and letters sent using the express mail service can be sent by Dec. 24 and still arrive in time for holiday festivities.
