Crime of the Week

Grantham School has suffered three break-ins since January, Goldsboro Police report. During the last break-in, sometime between the night of Aug. 8 and the morning of Aug. 9, two laptop computers and a glucose monitor were stolen. Anyone with information is asked to call Goldsboro-Wayne County Crime Stoppers at 735-2255. Callers can remain anonymous and could receive up to $1,000 if their information leads to a felony arrest.

Edna Owens Baker said a report published Tuesday that her home was broken into was wrong. The theft of jewelry she reported to law enforcement officers should have indicated that her home was not locked at the time and that the thefts occurred while her home was being repaired, she said.
