A "Shred-a-Thon" to give people a chance to get rid of sensitive documents will be held Monday, May 12, from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m. in the parking lot of Sears at Berkeley Mall. The event is sponsored by the U.S. Postal Service, the state Attorney General's Office and Super Shred. Lawmen say shredding helps prevent identity theft. You do not need to remove staples and paper clips from the documents beforehand.
It usually takes about 10 minutes to watch the documents shred.
