Man charged with using boys to break into city warehouse

Goldsboro police say a man encouraged four young boys to break into Johnson Sherman Co. on West Walnut Street this weekend.

Dominic Toomer, 22, of North Virginia Street was charged with four counts of contributing to the delinquency of juveniles, according to an arrest report.

Officers heard reports of several juveniles in the warehouse area of the West Walnut Street business, according to a press release.

Inside the warehouse, two officers found four boys between the ages of 9 and 14, police said.

Further inspection revealed damage to the windshield of a truck parked inside the warehouse, a vehicle with its contents ransacked, police said.

Police filed juvenile charges of felonious breaking and entering, attempted larceny and damage to property against the four boys, according to investigators.

Police accused Toomer of encouraging the juvenile's break-in so he could look inside the building for metals to sell, police said.

Toomer, a native of Baltimore, Md., was jailed under $3,200 secured bond.
