Cold snap spreads across state

David Nail, the foreman of a drilling crew, prepares his machinery for work early this morning on Pecan Road. Despite the cold, his crew is laying a natural gas line to Case Farms. A sudden drop in temperatures has Wayne and the rest of eastern North Carolina shivering this week. Forecasters are calling for continued cold at least until the weekend, with temperatures expected to drop below 20 degrees tonight and Friday night.
