PIKEVILLE -- The Pikeville-Pleasant Grove Fire Department has asked officials to annex their future fire station and make it an official part of town.
Mayor Herbert Sieger and the commissioners agreed to let Town Administrator Kathie Fields explore annexing the future fire station site, at Hooks Grove Church Road and Pikeville-Princeton Road, according to a letter from the fire department's president.
Attempts to reach the fire department president, Russell Robertson, were not immediately succesful.
Pikeville allowed Mrs. Fields to explore the possibility of annexing the new station by resolution, and asked her to "certify as soon as possible to the Board of Commissioners the result of her investigation."
If the station were to be annexed into town, it would be "non-contiguous," meaning the land is not adjacent to Pikeville town limits.
