Goldsboro police allege an Arrington Bridge Road man endangered three young children by leaving them unattended in the parking lot of the Piggly Wiggly on Lionel Street.
One of the children was found walking by himself in a parking lot, with a vehicle containing two other children sitting in the lot with door ajar, authorities say.
A vehicle containing the children was brought to the attention of Goldsboro Police Sgt. Chad Calloway while Milton Edmundson, 47, was inside shopping, officials said.
Calloway found the other children in Edmundson's vehicle, and determined that their ages were 2, 2 and 4 years old.
Edmundson was charged with three counts of contributing to the neglect of a juvenile and jailed under $5,000 unsecured bond.
The incident occurred March 26, but police did not release the details of the case until Wednesday because Child Services had become involved.
