Agriculture businesses add $667 million to local economy

Wayne County farmers have been working long hours to catch up with the harvest of beans and cotton, which have been held back by a recent spate of rainy weather. More rain is forecast this week. Thousands of acres of soybeans planted each year are a mainstay of the Wayne County economy, which is heavily dependent on agriculture.
