Zanajh Jones, 7, of Eastern Wayne Elementary School, makes rows of 10 hand towels that will be sent to Haiti. The students and faculty gathered more than 750 hygiene items, non-perishable food goods and other necessities Monday to send to the earthquake-ravaged nation -- and made a math lesson out of it. Students were asked to divide each bunch of items into tens, then to count to see how many hundreds of each item they collected. All of the proceeds will go to the MERCI Center for transportation to Haiti.
