U.S. Cellular, the company which promoted "Calling All Communities" and awarded $100,000 each to Wayne Country Day School, in 2010, and Brogden Primary, in 2009, has announced another campaign, this time for educators.
Calling All Teachers donates $1 million to fund creative and effective classroom projects submitted by public school teachers.
Through Sept. 15, teachers are invited to register on DonorsChoose.org as a "U.S. Cellular teacher" and their requests to be considered for funding. So far, more than 1,490 teachers have signed up.
This is the second year that U.S. Cellular has partnered with DonorsChoose.org. The Web site helps public school teachers find money for all types of classroom projects ranging from math, science and history to special needs, health and fitness.
U.S. Cellular will announce the teachers whose projects are selected for funding in October.
