Wayne United Way seeking letters of intent for possible 2012 funding

United Way of Wayne County is requesting Letters of Intent from local non-profit agencies whose programs align with United Way's focus areas of education, health and wellness, financial stability, and community enhancement and stabilizing personal crises.
A letter of intent provides information to United Way necessary in determining which local programs align with its community goals to insure that United Way funding is directed to programs that will have impact on attaining these goals.
Letters of intent that are accepted by United Way will be invited to submit a grant proposal to United Way for the 2012 calendar year.
Letter of intent forms and complete the instructions may be downloaded from the United Way website at www.unitedwayne.org. and click on "Letter of Intent" to access the forms and instructions and a complete list of eligibility requirements is included in the packet online.
The deadline for the submission of all letter forms is Feb. 28.
All applicant organizations must be tax exempt under the IRS Code 501(c)(3), incorporated in the state as a nonprofit, render charitable, philanthropic, health, character building or social welfare service in Wayne County and have an established financial reporting system that is in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles.
