Ethan Campbell works with a wind tester in the flight station of the STEM science lab summer camp at Wayne School of Engineering, a non-traditional class option introduced in the Wayne County school system several years ago. The lab is giving 16 rising sixth-graders a hands-on learning experience in science and technology. STEM stands for science, technology, engineering and math. The camp is funded by a North Carolina Eastern Region grant provided by the Golden LEAF Foundation.
