The city of Goldsboro has designated 6-8 p.m. Thursday as the official time for trick or treat.

Children should only approach houses that have an exterior light on, officials said.

Parents should supervise their children, and city officials ask that only children under age 16 participate in the trick-or-treating.

Trick or treaters are also being asked to stay in their own neighborhoods.

Adults will also have their own holiday celebration.

The Creepy Crawl will begin at 9 p.m., with downtown businesses The Flying Shamrock, The Laughing Owl, Terero's and Matchbox participating in the bar crawl.

The first 50 people in the door of each restaurant starting at 9 p.m. will receive a $2 voucher for a drink and there will be a costume contest in each bar at 11 p.m.

First place wins a $50 cash prize and a $25 restaurant gift card, second place gets a $50 restaurant gift card and third place wins a $25 restaurant gift card.

Carpool Express of Goldsboro will be downtown to provide safe rides home for those participating in the bar crawl. Call or text Carpool Express at 919-396-1333.
