SANDY BIZZELL

Mr. Thomas Sandy Bizzell, 72, of 961 N.C. Hwy. 581 North, died Thursday, January 22, 2004, at Kitty Askins Hospice Center.

Sandy was born February 26, 1931, in Wayne County to the late Jesse Waitus Bizzell and Pauline Anna Worley Bizzell. He was a retired finish carpenter and was known in the Nahunta Community as the man who sat on his front porch and waved at every car that passed. He will be missed by many, for much love went into every hand he would raise. The love in Sandy's life was God, his family, his pets and his front porch family.

Funeral services will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. at Pikes Crossroads Pentecostal Holiness Church, of which he was a member, with Rev. Timothy Creel and Rev. Tom Dorman officiating. Burial will follow in Evergreen Memorial Cemetery.

Sandy is survived by his faithful wife of almost 52 years, Hazel Peedin Bizzell; his daughter, Judy Stevens and husband Richard of Goldsboro; his sons, Jerry Bizzell and wife Jane of Kenly and Jimmy Bizzell and wife Cathy of Goldsboro; his sisters, Eva Armstrong and husband Roger of Carrollton, Va., Louise Tedder of Bracey, Va., Ann Tedder of Kenly and Faye Hill and husband Dwight of Princeton; his brothers, J.W. Bizzell Jr. and wife Edith of Micro, Rudolph Bizzell and wife Jeannette of Selma and Ernie "Pete" Bizzell and wife Louise of Kenly; and his grandchildren, Kevin Stevens and wife Jennifer, Michael Stevens, Scott Bizzell, April Foulk and husband, Mike, Jamie Smith and husband Harry, and Christa Bizzell; and five great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his brothers, Ivory Bizzell and Arnold Bizzell.

Flowers are welcome, or memorials may be made to the Pikes Crossroads Pentecostal Holiness Church, 2494 Pikeville-Princeton Road, Pikeville, N.C., 27863; the American Heart Association, 3015 S.
