MOUNT OLIVE -- Gary Mitchell "Mitch" Pettit II, 20, of 173 Willie Best Road, Mount Olive, died Sunday afternoon at his home.

He was employed as a carpenter with Al Costa Carpentry.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday at Tyndall Funeral Home with Pastor Steve Singleton officiating. Burial will be in Maplewood Cemetery in Mount Olive.

He is survived by his father, Gary M. Pettit Sr. of Mount Olive; his mother, Agnes Ezzell Sheppard of Holly Ridge; a brother, Michael Pettit of Mount Olive; a sister, Alicia Pettit of Goldsboro; his paternal grandmother, Nonal Lee Pettit, with whom he lived; his maternal grandmother and step-grandfather, Alice Faye and Larry Lambert of Surf City; and his step-maternal grandmother, Beverly "Lady" Ezzell of Albertson.

His grandfathers were the late Clyde Pettit and the late Steve Ezzell.

The family will receive friends at Tyndall Funeral Home on Tuesday from 7 until 9 p.m. At other times they will be at the home of Bobby and Sadie Potter, 3443 Emmaus Church Road, Mount Olive
