FREMONT -- Jo Anne Sanderson Dew, 45, of 501 S. Hillandale Drive, went to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Thursday.

Jo Anne grew up in Lenoir County and was the daughter of Robert Lee Sanderson and Annie Waller Sanderson. She was graduated from Kinston High School in 1977, received her Bachelor's from Mars Hill College in 1981, and a Master's in Christian Education in 1999 from Campbell University Divinity School. She was married to H. Powell Dew Jr. of Raleigh in 1984. Since 2001, she has assisted her husband in his pastorate at Fremont Missionary Baptist Church.

Jo Anne is survived by her husband, H. Powell Dew Jr.; a daughter, Amber Nichole Dew; her parents, Robert and Annie Sanderson from Kinston; a sister, Susie Jarman and her husband Lester Jarman of Kinston; and six nieces and nephews of Kinston; her in-laws, Harold and Bettie Dew of Raleigh; and a sister-in-law, Mary Ruth Robosson of Raleigh.

There will be visitation at Fremont Missionary Baptist Church, Fremont, on Friday, Oct. 29, from 7 to 9 p.m.

A private graveside service will be conducted by the Rev. Ray K. Hodge for the family and friends Saturday, October 30th, at 3 p.m. at Elmwood Cemetery in Fremont. Pastor Tim Lanier and Dean Michael Cogdill will conduct a public Memorial Celebration of Life Service at Tanglewood Church of God in Kinston, at Tanglewood Church of God in Kinston; on Sunday at 3 p.m. Additional visitation will follow the service.

The family wishes to thank all who have supported, loved, and cared for us through this journey of illness.

In lieu of flowers, Jo Anne requests gifts be given to Campbell University Divinity School to the "Jo Anne Sanderson Dew Endowed Scholarship Fund" P.O. Box 4050, Buies Creek, N.C., 27506.

The family is being served by Howell Funeral Home & Crematory in Goldsboro.
