PENNIE THOMPSON

GREENVILLE, S.C. -- Pennie Ruth Thompson, 83, widow of Talmadge Thompson, died Wednesday, Nov. 24.

She was a native of Goldsboro and was the daughter of the late Richard and Beulah Newsome Uzzell.

She is survived by a daughter, Linda T. Sawyer; a son, Ronnie Thompson; one sister, Pauline Uzzell; one brother, Preston Uzzell; two half sisters, Glenda Uzzell and Jeanette Hyde; five half brothers, Malcolm, Theodore, Milton, Marvin and David Uzzell; and two grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

The funeral was held by the graveside on Sunday at 2 p.m. at Greenville Memorial Gardens, under the direction of Mackey Mortuary.
