Mrs. McRoy was born in Johnston County to the late William Walter and Mary Langdon Stewart. She was married for 52 years to the late William David McRoy Sr. For those who knew her, Pearl will be remembered as a generous, caring, compassionate woman and a beloved friend to many. The love of her life was God, family and friends. Even during her declining health, she never gave up or let go of her firm belief of the power of prayer. This group intercedes in prayer for all of the needs of the church and of its members. Following this meeting, she and others ministered to shut-ins and nursing home residents. She was dedicated to her Circle and the church's Women's Ministries.
Her community involvement included memberships in the Wayne County Home Extension Club, the WCTU and the AARP.
