BENSON -- John Louis Padgett Jr., 57, of 132 Jymco Lane, died Wednesday at Methodist Medical Center in Oak Ridge, Tenn.

A funeral service will be held Monday at 11 a.m. at the Rose and Graham Funeral Home Chapel in Benson.

Mr. Padgett was born in Johnson County, June 15, 1947, to the late John Louis Padgett Sr. and Christine Moore Padgett Jones. He was a truck driver for Price and Sons Express of Kernersville. He attended Coats PFW Baptist Church.

He is survived by his wife, Kathy Jernigan Padgett; three sons, Jimmy Avery, Henley Avery, Audie Avery, all of Benson; six daughters, Barbara Bagwell of Benson, Darlene Byrd of Erwin, Charlotte Avery of Raleigh, Annette Price of Zebulon, Hope Tharrington of Louisburg, Christy Padgett of Greenville; three brothers, Samuel Jones of Benson, Sammy Jones of Goldsboro, and Rufus Jones of Goldsboro; thirteen grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends Sunday evening from 7 until 9 at Rose and Graham Funeral Home in Benson.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Padgett family, 132 Jymco Land, Benson, N.C., 27504.
