Calvin C. Price, 79, died Thursday at Kitty Askins Hospice Center.

The funeral will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. in the chapel of Tyndall Funeral Home in Mount Olive. The Rev. Terri Hobbs will officiate. Burial will be in Maplewood Cemetery in Mount Olive.

Mr. Price was the son of the late Davis and Lee Ora Blizzaard Price. Prior to retirement he was a farmer and welder and also sold and repaired farm equipment. He was a charter member of Seven Springs Volunteer Fire Department and was a faithful member of Seven Springs United Methodist Church, where he served as a greeter.

He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Alice H. Price; one daughter, Judy Price of the home; and several nieces and nephews and a caring family of in-laws.

He was preceded in death by two brothers, Wilbert and Prentice Price, and three sisters, Belle P. Underwood, Katie P. Mervin and Evelyn P. Baker.

The family will receive friends at Tyndall Funeral Home during the hour prior to the service on Saturday, and other times at the residence at 1089 Country Club Road.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Seven Springs United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 64, Seven Springs, 28578; or to Kitty Askins Hospice Center, 107 Handley Park Court, Goldsboro, 27534.
