A funeral service for James "Brownie" Fields is scheduled for Tuesday at The Original Tabernacle of Prayer, 1005 S. John St. Burial will follow in the Elmwood Cemetery. Elder Arnold Thorton will deliver the eulogy.

Mr. Fields was preceded in death by his wife, Almareada Fields, his mother, Minnie Fennell, his father, John Lee Fields, his daughter, Janice Louise Thompson, two sisters, Carolyn Smith and Isabell Smith, and one brother, Willie Fenell.

He is survived by ten daughters, Vivian Best, Helen Thompson, Gloria Cox, Minnie Thompson, Laura Carmichael, Tia Sabrina Bryant, Teresa McKinnon, Bernita Fields, Patricia Wilson, and Kimnetta Coley; two sons, James A. Thompson and Anthony Ruthley; three sisters, Pauline Flowers, Janice Fennell, and Betty Staten; one brother, Floyd Fennel; 43 grandchildren and 56 great-grandchildren.

A viewing will be held Monday from 1 until 7 p.m. The family will receive friends from 7 until 8 p.m. at McIntyre Funeral Home, 900 S. George St.
