Mabel L. Barbour Brennan, age 96, of Goldsboro, died June 28, 2005, at Britthaven of Goldsboro.
Mabel was born on November 30, 1908 in the Wilson Mill's community of Johnston County to the late Seth L. (Lon) and Arrah Parrish Barbour. She was also preceded in death by her brother, Shelton Barbour, and husbands, William Wiggs, John Laharner and Andrew Brennan. She retired from Howell's Child Care Facility in Goldsboro, where she devoted her life to the education of children with special needs. Ms. Brennan was also a member of Trinity Baptist Church in Goldsboro.
A celebration and thanksgiving of Mabel's life will be held Friday, July 8, 2005, at 11 a.m. by the graveside at the Evergreen Cemetery on Hwy. 70 West near Goldsboro.
She is survived by a son, Fredrick Wiggs; two grandsons, David Wiggs and William Wiggs, and several great-grandchildren, all of Hampton, Va. Along with a host of extended family and friends, and many others whose lives were touched and truly blessed by Mabel's life here on earth.
In her honor, the family requests that memorials be directed to Trinity Baptist Church, P.O. Box 10124, Goldsboro, N.C., 27534-3401.
