SNOW HILL -- Elsie Geraldine Jomp Minshew, 84, of Indian Head Circle, died Saturday at Pitt County Memorial Hospital in Greenville.
The funeral will be held on Tuesday at 3 p.m. in the chapel of Shackleford-Howell Funeral Home in Fremont. Pastor Mickey Baysden will officiate. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery in Fremont.
Mrs. Minshew was born in Wilson County on June 1, 1921, to the late Edward and Hattie Tomlinson Jomp. She was a member of Snow Hill Pentecostal Holiness Church, where she attended while her health permitted.
She is survived by one son, Eddie Minshew, and his wife, Marci, of Wilmington; one sister, Edith Richmond and her husband, Ed, of Vienna, Va; six grandchildren, Christopher, Caleb, Taylor, Chelsea, Ethan, and Evan; a brother-in-law, Lloyd Minshew and his wife, Christine, of Emerald Isle; a sister-in-law, Mary Minchew of Vienna, Va.; and a host of nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Delmas Minshew; and a sister, Clell Sorrell.
The family will receive friends tonight from 7 until 8:30 at Shackleford-Howell Funeral Home, 102 N. Pine St., Fremont.
