MOUNT OLIVE -- The funeral for Bertha Lee Williams, 55 of Oxon Hill, Md., will be held Thursday at 2 p.m. at Payne Temple A.M.E. Zion Church, with the Rev. Johnny Murphy, officiating. Burial will be in Grantham Cemetery.
Ms. Williams died Thursday at Washington Hospital.
She was formerly of Mount Olive and was the daughter of the late Eunice Williams and Harold Ashford.
Her survivors include three sons, Travis Williams and Jarvis Williams of Oxon Hill, Md., and Ortarius Williams of New Castle, Pa.; five sisters, Ann Williams of Brooklyn, N.Y., Carolyn Hall of Washington, D.C., Eula Bennett of Baltimore, Md., Margaret Hussey of Fort Washington, Md., and Lena Morrisey of Goldsboro; two brothers, Fletcher Williams of Mount Olive and Bobby Oates of Brooklyn, N.Y.; and seven grandchildren.
The viewing will be held today from 5 until 7 p.m. at the Garris Funeral Home Chapel, and the family will be present from 6 until 7 to receive friends. At other times the family will be at the home of Fletcher Williams, 102-D Johnson Place, Mount Olive.
