PIKEVILLE -- Joshua Jefferson "Josh" Lupo, 24, died Wednesday morning at Wayne Memorial Hospital.

A native of Galveston, Texas, he graduated from Princeton High School in 2001 and served in the United States Marine Corps, including a tour of duty in Iraq.

He is survived by his wife, Brooke Adams Lupo, daughter, Kyla Brooke Lupo, and son, Joshua Jefferson Lupo Jr., of the home; his parents, Greg and Wanda Ward Powers of Willow Springs; brothers, Robert "Zack" Lupo of Jacksonville, Fla., and Matthew Lupo of Willow Springs; and his grandparents, Janie Lupo and Alma Ward of Jacksonville, Fla., and George Jefferson Lupo of Texas.

The funeral will be conducted Friday at 2 p.m. at Grace Baptist Church, with the Rev. Worth Worley officiating. Burial, with military honors, will be in the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends tonight from 7 until 9 at Parrish Funeral Home in Princeton.
