Died Aug. 22, 2006
Joyce Smith Dixon, 45, 505 Bunche Dr., died Tuesday at her home.
The funeral will be held Sunday at 1 p.m. at First African Baptist Church with the Rev. Freddie Barnes officiating. Burial will be in Wayne Memorial Park North.
She was a native of Wayne County and a 1979 graduate of Goldsboro High School. She attended A&T State University in Greensboro. She was employed at JCPenney as a sales associate and a merchandise pricing associate assistant.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Rose Seldon Smith, and a daughter, Rose Dixon.
She is survived by a daughter, LaShaunda Green of the home; a son, James Dixon of Virginia Beach, Va.; and her father, Elijah Lee Smith of the home.
The viewing will be Saturday from 2 to 6 p.m. at McIntyre Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in memory of Joyce Dixon to New Spirit Church Ministries.
