CLINTON -- Ida Rochelle Darden Gilmore, 83, of 668 Carr Church Road, died in the University of North Carolina Hospital in Chapel Hill Thursday.

Funeral will be 2 p.m. today at Carr Memorial Christian Church, with the Rev. Penny Ziemer officiating. Burial will be in the Clinton Cemetery.

The Sampson County native was the daughter of the late Egbert and Veach King Darden and the widow of Edward H. Gilmore.

She is survived by four daughters.

The family will receive friends at her home.
