Callie Garris McMillan, 91, passed away at the home of her daughter in Swartz Creek, Mich., on Monday evening.

The family will receive friends on Friday from 2 to 3:30 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home, followed by the funeral service at 3:30 p.m. in the chapel. Burial will follow in Willow Dale Cemetery. All other times, the family will receive friends at the home of Mary Harmon, 113 Horseshoe Drive, Goldsboro.

Callie was born in Anson County on Nov. 18, 1917, to the late Jessie Garris and Bessie Martin Garris. She was married to the late Gordon McMillan Sr. Callie retired in 1991, after working many years with the late Philip Baddour Sr.

Callie is survived by her daughters, Mary Louise Harmon of Goldsboro and Sylvia and husband, Dave Caudle, of Michigan; her son, the Rev. Julian McMillan and Carol of Wilmington; her brothers, the Rev. Ranny Garris and Julian Garris, and sister, Estelle Trull, all of Peachland; grandchildren, Marlene and Kirk Daughtry, Cheryl and Jack Watson, Mike and Tonya Engles, Karen and Mike Cooper, all of Goldsboro, Lori and CJ Weaver of Mount Olive, Shelly Clements, Kim Cramer, Craig and Stephanie Pumphrey of Michigan, the Rev. Chris and Allison McMillan of Maryland, Jay and Dawn McMillan of Wilmington, the Rev. Andy and Becky McMillan of Rhode Island and Sherry and Dr. Wesley Hambright of Jacksonville.

She had 20 great-grandchildren, and four great-great-grandchildren; also surviving are her sisters-in-law, Cleo Furlin and Lorice McMillan; a special brother-in-law, Bob Furlin; and a host of nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Gordon McMillan Jr., and several brothers and sisters.
