Elona Elizabeth Bryant, 82, of 114 N. Johnson St., Landrum, S.C., stepped into God's tender care Wednesday, June 24, 2009 at St. Luke Hospital in Columbus, S.C.

Funeral services will be Tuesday at Mount Calvary Missionary Baptist Church at 2 p.m. The Rev. Freeman will preside. Viewing at the church will begin at 1 p.m.

Elonora Bryant, daughter of the late Joseph and Vera Bryant, was born Nov. 23, 1927 in Goldsboro. She was a graduate of Dillard High School in 1944 and Shaw University in 1948.

She is survived by two sons, Bernard (Jennifer) Bryant of Landrum, Jerry Bryant of Norfolk, Va.; two daughters, Marilyn (Ken) Mack of Sumter, S.C., and Rebecca Williams of Norfolk, Va.; one sister, Doris Washington of Goldsboro; brother, Joe Fredrick Bryant of Charlotte; sister-in-law, Gwendolyn Bryant of Charlotte; 10 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

The family will greet friends at the home of her sister, Doris Washington, 909 Dorsey St., where they will assemble in preparation for the funeral procession. Services are entrusted to Lightner Memorial Funeral Home.
