Feb. 20, 1931-Feb. 19, 2010

Christiane Leone Lucie Marcilly Borders, 78, passed away Friday.

She was born Feb. 20, 1931, in Avon, France, to Andre and Charlotte Marcilly.

Years later as a young woman, she met and fell in love with a handsome young soldier stationed there named Bill Borders. They were married and lived for several years off and on in France and eventually moved to America and raised their children, settling in Goldsboro.

Chris had many close friends and loved to spend time with them.

One of her favorite hobbies was getting out for a little bingo, but her greatest passion was spending time with her family and grandchildren.

Chris is survived by her sister, Marlene Lozeno; her sister-in-law, Grace Marcilly; her eight children, Josiane Judson and her husband, Bill Judson, Dominique Hammond and her husband, Billy Hammond, Patricia Koenig and her husband, Terry Koenig, Richard Borders, Ron Borders and his wife, Sandy Borders, Brigitte Kelley and her husband, Randy Kelley, Patrick Borders, and Michael Borders and his wife, Sarah Borders; 17 beautiful grandchildren; and 21 lively great-grandchildren.

Her amazing legacy will live on in the many lives she loved and touched.

The family received visitors Sunday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Minshew-Coley Funeral Home in Kenly.
