Eleanor Gulledge Moore, 76, of Fayetteville, passed away Thursday, Nov. 4, 2010 at 1:05 p.m. at Carrol S. Roberson Hospice Center.

Graveside services will be 3 p.m. today at Lafayette Memorial Park. The visitation was from 6 until 8 p.m. Saturday at Rogers and Breece Funeral Home in Fayetteville.

She was born Feb. 26, 1934 in Mount Croghan, S.C. to Riley Woodrow and Lucy Hancock Gulledge. She was a 1952 graduate of J.W. Cannon High School in Kannapolis, and Fayetteville Technical Community College.

She met and married William "Bill" Moore in 1954. She was the loving mother of Susan Moore Williams and Christy Moore Board of Fayetteville, and the adoring grandmother of Seth Williams of Elizabethtown, and Coleman and Tori Board of Fayetteville. She worked for Pate Derby Wholesale and Produce Company of Fayetteville, and owned and operated Vapo Pest Control Company from 1964 until 2008.

She was an active dedicated member of the American Business Women's Association, and Beta Sigma Phi International Sisterhood since 1973. She received the first Woman of the Year award given to a member of Beta Sigma Phi International in 1977. She was also twice nominated for Woman of the Year in the American Business Women's association. She was an active, involved leader and volunteer for the Carolina in the Pines Girl Scout Association. Eleanor was an active supporter and contributor to the political success of one of Cumberland County's longest surviving sheriffs.

She was preceded in death by her husband, William J. Moore, her parents, and her brother, Stephen Foster Gulledge. She is survived by her sister, Gloria Gulledge of Dunn and her immediate family, Susan, Steve and Seth Williams, and Christy, Michael Coleman and Tori Board.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to the Carrol S. Roberson Hospice Center, 2431 Legion Road, Fayetteville.

Pallbearers include Coleman Board, Seth Williams, Steve Williams, Brandon Hinton, Dalton Smith, Jeremy Rhone, and honorary pallbearer, Tori Board.
