Morrice Everette "Bobby" Dail, 82, died Tuesday at Kitty Askins Hospice Center in Goldsboro.

Bobby was born in Duplin County to the late Faison and Della Kornegay Dail.

He was also preceded in death by sons, Tommy Dail and Donald Allen Dail.

He was a veteran of the United States Navy, serving with the Atlantic Battleships Division 4 aboard the USS Washington and the USS North Carolina.

Bobby was formerly employed with Pyrofax Gas Co., where he was the corporate plant and service manager, and he was a member of Westwood United Methodist Church.

Mr. Dail was life member, honorary secretary and past master of Goldsboro Masonic Lodge No. 634. He was a past high priest, past illustrious master, past commander of Goldsboro York Rite Bodies, and a Knight of the York Cross of Honor. He was past sovereign master of Demolay Chapter No. 163 A.M.D. and Knight Mason and Shriner. Bobby was a United States patent holder, having introduced several innovative ideas.

A memorial service to celebrate the life of Bobby Dail will be held Sunday, May 15, at 3 p.m. at Shumate-Faulk Funeral Home, with the Rev. David Pate officiating.

Bobby is survived by his wife, Ethel Taylor Dail; a daughter, Frances Dail Grantham of Fayetteville; two stepdaughters, Linda Malpass and Kay Smith both of Goldsboro; two brothers, Elmore B. Dail of Mount Olive and William R. Dail of Clayton; five grandchildren, Robert Grantham, David Grantham, Christopher Dail, Jennifer Dail and Junior Dail; and several great-grandchildren.
