He was an avid fisherman, and loved sports and hunting.

Luther was a disabled veteran. He served time in the United States Air Force, and was stationed at Seymour Johnson Air Force Base when he was honorably discharged.

He loved the area so much he decided to make Goldsboro his home.

He was employed for many years as the manager of the NCO Club at Seymour Johnson.

He also worked at Sam's Club and in the Spring Creek School System.

He was a past member of the Masons.

Luther was a member of St. Mark Church of Christ, and attended faithfully, as along as his health allowed.

He leaves to cherish his memory three sisters, Mary Elizabeth Mastin of Elyria, Ohio, Kathy Robertson of Newbern, Tenn., and Brenda Nash of Dyersburg, Tenn.; a brother, Jimmie L. Jones of Nashville, Tenn.; several nieces and nephews; and a host of friends.

He was well liked by all who knew him.

A service of remembrance will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. at St. Mark Church of Christ.

A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service.

Following the services in the sanctuary, Mr. Jones' physical sheath, along with his adored family, will be escorted to Wayne Memorial Park for interment rites. Now Mr. Jones is peacefully resting in the bosom of God our Heavenly Father, free from the pain and misery of this world.

Services of compassion and distinguished class are by E.M. Matthews Funeral Home and Cremations Inc.
