Sept. 25, 1968-Oct. 29, 2011

Patrick Shirl Allen was born Sept. 25,1968, to Ralph and Carolyn Coel Allen in Wayne County.

Patrick attended Southern Wayne High School, graduating in 1986.

He served in the United States Army for five years, and was a Desert Storm veteran.

Patrick was employed at Pepsi Bottling Ventures in Garner for nine years, and previously employed at BJ's Wholesale Club Raleigh and Cooper Standard Products Goldsboro.

Patrick married Evella Spencer in November 1991, and to this union two daughters were born, Imani and Nia of New Orleans, La.

Just like his mother, Patrick had a warm smile and a friendly attitude. He loved to travel, shop and enjoy the company of family and friends.

Just like his father, Patrick was hard-working, witty, comical and clever.

He was also a prankster, who enjoyed making people laugh.

At the tender age of 43, Patrick's time to rest came Saturday morning, Oct. 29, 2011, at Rex Hospital in Raleigh.

Patrick leaves to cherish his precious memories his parents, Ralph and Carolyn Allen; three daughters, Imani and Nia Allen of New Orleans, La., and Jekiah Allen of Goldsboro; a son, Darius White of Goldsboro; six first cousins who were reared as his siblings in the home, Eric (Erkica) Warren of Tampa, Fla., Derrick (Sheila) Warren of Dudley, Torrie Singleton of Rochester, N.Y., Tammy (William) Bryant of Goldsboro and Nikita and Deyonda Warren of Buffalo, N.Y.; a brother, George (Cheryl) Dobson of Mount Olive; his fiancee, Michelle Dallas of Raleigh and her children, Marcus Dallas of the home and Brandon Dallas of Miami, Fla.; five nieces; two nephews; and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins and many friends.

A visitation will be held Thursday, Nov. 3, 2011, from 4 to 7 p.m. at E.M. Matthews Funeral Home.

A service of remembrance will be held Friday, Nov. 4, 2011, at 1 p.m. at Goldsboro-Raleigh District Assembly, 211 W. Hooks River Road, Goldsboro. Following the services in the sanctuary, Mr. Allen's delicate temple, along with his adored family, will be escorted to Maplewood Cemetery in Mount Olive for interment rites.

Mr. Allen's earthen vessel is peacefully resting at E.M. Matthews Funeral Home, where the Allen and connected families are receiving prestigious service.
