Dec. 3, 1963-June 30, 2012

Cindy Perry Garrett, 48, passed away on Saturday, June 30, 2012 at Kitty Askins Hospice Center surrounded by her family.

Cynthia was born in Wayne County on Dec. 3, 1963 to Danny and Edith Lee Perry of Goldsboro. She had been employed for 16 years as a corporate planner with Merck Pharmaceutical. Cynthia was a beautiful person whose loving spirit and ever present smile radiated the joy she experienced in living every day of her life. She was deeply devoted to her family and was happiest when she was spending time in family/friend gatherings or with the "light of her life," her children. In her battle with cancer, she was a constant inspiration, and those who knew her will always remember her joy in living, her laughter, her positive attitude, her caring and loving ways and of course, her courage.

The family will receive friends Tuesday, July 3, 2012, from 9:30-11 a.m. at Seymour Funeral Home followed by a service of remembrance in the chapel at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Myron Scott officiating. Burial will follow in Evergreen Memorial Cemetery.

In addition to her parents, she is survived by her son, Daniel Garrett of the home; her daughter, Paige Garrett of the home; her boyfriend, David Kneeshaw; her niece, Alexis Pope; her nephew, Dallas Pope; and a host of uncles, aunts and cousins.

She was preceded in death by a sister, Kimberlie McGhee; maternal grandparents, Morris and Mary Frances Lee; and paternal grandparents, Randolph and Lillie Mae Perry.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the University of North Carolina Cancer Center, CB#7295, Chapel Hill, N.C. 27599-7295 or to Kitty Askins Hospice Center, 107 Handley Park Court, Goldsboro, N.C. 27534.
