DUDLEY -- Herbert Benson Grady, 49, Dudley, passed away Aug. 27, 2012.

His parents are H.B. and Angeline Oliver Grady of Dudley.

In 1975, Herbert relocated with his family from Linden, N.J., to Dudley. He graduated from Southern Wayne Senior High School in 1981.

He was a graduate of East Carolina University with a degree in political science.

Herbert retired form Wayne County Public Schools due to his illness.

In addition to his parents, Herbert is survived by a sister, Inonda Grady King and brother-in-law Danny King.

He leaves behind several aunts, Annie Lois Parott, Dorothy Jean (Ceasar) Kelly, Clara Markham, Charlotte Gray, Annie McCoy, Sue Grady, Daisy Grady, Shirley Grady and Elise Grady.

He also leaves behind three uncles, Stephen (Gerald) Grady, Cleo Grady, and Ronald McCoy (Katie) McCoy, and two great-aunts, Dora Maye and Readdie Armwood.

Uncle Herb, as he was called, leaves a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.

A memorial service will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. at Best Grove Missionary Baptist Church.
