CLEMENTINE EDMUNDSON PARKER

Mrs. Clementine Edmundson Parker, 85, lovingly known by her family and friends as "Mother Clem," 304 W. Mulberry St., Goldsboro, N.C., departed her earthly life peacefully Wednesday, Feb. 27, 2013, at her residence.
Clementine was born in Wayne County, N.C., Aug. 11, 1927, to the late Mr. and Mrs. Alberet and Eva Cooper Edmundson.
She received her education in the public schools of Wayne County.
Until her death, she served as an overseer and faithful assistant pastor at Parker's Chapel Church of Goldsboro, N.C.
Mother Parker's life work included employment with Wayne Memorial Hospital in Goldsboro, N.C.
She was preceded in death by her husband, pastor James Authur Parker.
Funeral service will be conducted Sunday, March 3, 2013, at 1 p.m. at L. N. Forbes Original Free Will Baptist Tabernacle, 1800 Lane St. SE, Wilson, N.C. Elder Arinzor Blue will officiate. Interment will follow in Wayne Memorial Park Cemetery South, 2925 S. U.S. 117, Dudley, N.C.
A first public viewing will be held Saturday, March 2, 2013, at McIntyre Funeral Home, 900 S. George St., Goldsboro, N.C., from noon to 2 p.m.
Also, a second public viewing will be held Saturday, March 2, 2013, at First African Baptist Church, 803 Harris St., Goldsboro, N.C., from 4 to 7 p.m.
The family will be present Saturday, March 2, 2013, at First African Baptist Church, 803 Harris St., Goldsboro, N.C., from 5 to 7 p.m. to receive friends and other family members.
Pastor Parker leaves to cherish her loving and precious memories three daughters, pastor Doretha E. Brown, Joyce A. Parker and Jacquline P. Cox (Walker) all of Goldsboro; four sons, Frederick E. Parker of the home, Johnny L. Parker of Goldsboro, Beverly J. Parker (Mary Ann) of Mount Olive and James A. Parker Jr. (Angela) of Dudley, N.C.; a devoted son-in-law, elder Jerry Jones of Goldsboro, N.C.; 20 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; four sisters, Corine Braswell of Wilson, N.C., Vivian Coley of Fremont, N.C., Betty Barnes of Dudley, N.C., and Doris Lewis (Melvin) of Goldsboro, N.C.; a brother, Ivy Edmundson (Doris) of Durham, N.C.; a sister-in-law, Ethel Tyree of Winton, N.C.; and a host of godchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins other relatives and friends.
The family will assemble Sunday, March 3, 2013, at the residence of pastor Clementine Parker, 304 W. Mulberry St., Goldsboro, N.C., two hours prior to the funeral at 10:55 a.m. in preparation for the funeral procession.
