PRINCETON &mdash; Leroy "Pee Wee" Davis, 52, 817 Princeton Road, slept into the master's care on Friday, Aug. 15 at Wayne Memorial Hospital after a long battle with cancer.
</p>

<p>
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday at 2 p.m. at Rhodes Funeral Home Chapel with pastor Rex Evans officiating. He will be laid to rest at Old Mill Cemetery. 
</p>

<p>
He was born Dec. 24, 1955, in Wayne County to the late Mary Jane Matthews and Robert Davis. 
</p>

<p>
He leaves to cherish his loving memory; his loving wife of 31 years, Wanda Faye Davis; one daughter, Zeneta Nechauel Davis; six sisters; Bertha Darden, Mary Thrift, Betty McNair all of Goldsboro; Flora Hargett of Havelock; Josephine Davis of New York and Ernestine Lane of Fayetteville; two brothers, John Davis of Goldsboro and William "Ed" Matthews of South Carolina; a nephew, Detroit Matthews; and a host of brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews other loving relatives and friends. 
</p>

<p>
There will be a viewing held on Friday from 4 to 7 p.m. at Rhodes Funeral Home Chapel. 
</p>

<p>

<p>

Dorothy Elizabeth Raynor Best, 87, passed away on Wednesday at Wayne Memorial Hospital.
</p>

<p>
Funeral services will be held Friday at 2 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Frank Purvis officiating. Burial will follow in Wayne Memorial Park. 
</p>

<p>
Mrs. Best was born in Newton Grove, on April 19, 1921, to the late Stephen Elbert Raynor and Effie Bennett Raynor. She was married to the late John Clenon Best. Mrs. Best retired from General Electric with 28 years of service. She was a charter member of Northview Baptist Church and was an active member as long as her health permitted. 
</p>

<p>
Mrs. Best is survived by her daughter, Doris B. Ginn of Goldsboro; her sons, J.R. Best of Goldsboro and Ray Best and wife, Betsy of Wilson; her grandchildren, John Best and wife, Jan of Wilmington, Brian Best of Raleigh, Steve Best and wife, Jessica of Apex, Chris Best of Raleigh, Ashley Best of Raleigh, Marsha Spiering of South Dakota, Will Ginn and wife, Katja of Germany and Ryan Ginn of Goldsboro; and her great-grandchildren, Brittany Willis, Brandan Spiering, Jack Best, Jacob Best and Hayden Best. She is also survived by her sisters, Evelyn Graham, Lellon Stanley and husband, J.D. and Dean Graham. 
</p>

<p>
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Zella King Jernigan and husbands, Lewis King and Moullon Jernigan, Louise Raynor, Rachel Porter and husband, Monzo, and Ruth Porter and husband, Barfield; her brothers, Hosea Raynor and wife, Elma and Albert Garland &ldquo;Jack&rdquo; Raynor and wife, Gladys; and brothers-in-law, Lester Graham and Joe Graham. 
</p>

<p>
Flowers are welcome or memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, 930B Wellness  Drive, Greenville, N.C., 27834. 
</p>

<p>
The family will receive friends Friday one hour prior to the service at Seymour Funeral Home.
</p>

Freida "Princess" Farfour Capps, 48, Clingman St., passed away Tuesday at the University of North Carolina Hospital in Chapel Hill after a lengthy illness.
</p>

<p>
Mass of Christian burial will be held Friday at 11 a.m. at Saint Mary&rsquo;s Catholic Church, located on the corner of Edgerton and Jefferson St. in Goldsboro. Burial will follow at Willow Dale Cemetery.
</p>

<p>
She is survived by her husband, Charles "Glenn" Capps; her parents, Edmund G. and Joyce Cooper Farfour of Goldsboro; one son, Matthew Ryan Capps of the home; one brother, Detective Sergeant Richard "Rick" Farfour of Goldsboro; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
</p>

<p>
The family will receive friends tonight from 7 until 8:30 p.m. at Howell Funeral Home and Crematory in Goldsboro and other times at the home of her parents, 1704 Laurel Street in Goldsboro.
</p>

<p>Homegoing services will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. at Saint Delight United Holy Church in Parkstown. Burial will follow at Wayne Memorial Park.
</p>

<p>Mable Hall Smith "Mother," the daughter of the late Odie and Emma Hall, was born April 26, 1923. She departed this life on Saturday at 11:20 a.m. at Wayne Memorial Hospital. She was the oldest child of 17 children. She was predeceased by one daughter, Daisy Johnson; and 11 siblings.
</p>

<p>She received her formal education in Wayne County and furthered her studies in nursing services. She was a retired State of North Carolina Government emp-loyee  at the O'Berry Center. 
</p>

<p>She accepted the Lord at an early age and became a member of Saint Delight in 1968 where she served in choir No. 2 and attended faithfully until her health failed.
</p>

<p>Mother leaves to cherish her memories three daughters, Doris Grant of Las Vegas, Nevada, Prophetess Barbara Blount and her husband, Apostle Lennon Blount, of Goldsboro and Mary Moore and her husband, Jimmy, of Goldsboro; five brothers and sisters; seven grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
</p>

<p>A viewing will be held Friday from 4 until 7 p.m. at Howell Funeral Home and Crematory in Goldsboro. The family will be present from 6 until 7 p.m. and other times at the home of her daughter and son-in-law, Prophetess Barbara and Apostle Lennon Blount, 100 North Cottonwood Drive in Goldsboro. 
</p>

<p><em>July 26, 1927-Aug. 18, 2008</em>
</p>

<p>GREENSBORO -- Ernest K. Edwards, 81, 1105 Monticello St., formerly of Goldsboro, died Monday morning at Beacon Place.
</p>

<p>Visitation will be Friday at 12:30 p.m., followed by a memorial service at 2 p.m., at the Guilford Chapel of Forbis and Dick, West Friendly Avenue.
</p>

<p>"Mr. Ed," as he was fond of being called, was born July 26, 1927, to Walter Lawson Edwards and Lillie Orfield Edwards, in Todd, N.C. He joined the U.S. Army in 1945 and served until 1947. In 1952, he joined the U.S. Air Force and was honorably discharged in July 1973. He was a true patriot, and believed serving our country was one of the highlights of his life. He enjoyed walks, crossword puzzles, and quizzing his family on geography trivia.  
</p>

<p>Mr. Edwards was preceded in death by his parents, sister Virginia Grubb, brother Ward Beecher Edwards, and nephew Randall Grubb.
</p>

<p>Surviving are son G.C. and Gale of Goldsboro; daughter Donna and Ceasar of Greensboro, fianc&eacute;e Edna Oakley of Oxford; sister Betty and Charles Phillips of Hudson; sister-in-law Eileen of Boone; brothers Buren and Olabell Edwards of West Jefferson; Lindsay and Doris Edwards of West Jefferson; and Danny and Bertie Edwards of Thomasville.
</p>

<p>He was affectionately known as "Uncle Doc" to many nieces and nephews, who he loved dearly.  
</p>

<p>A friend to animals, Dad enjoyed playing with Sophie, Buddy, Benji, Boz, Katie, and Lassie.
</p>

<p>Mr. Edwards' family would like to express appreciation to the wonderful team at Hospice and Palliative Care of Greensboro, especially our nurse, Monique Dunbar and nurse tech, Tomi Owens. Our thanks also go to Drs. Amy Stevenson and Gregg Taylor and staff, as well as the Durham VA Medical Center, for their exceptional care.
</p>

<p>Graveside services will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. at Wayne Memorial Park with Pastor's Elbert Hollowell and Neal Wingfield officiating. 
</p>

<p>Born in Wayne County, she was preceded in death by her parents, George and Addie Hines Hollowell.
</p>

<p>Mrs. Collins is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Janie Lou and Gerald Mozingo of Goldsboro; two grandsons, Jerry Thornton Mozingo and his wife, Pam of Goldsboro and Gene Allen Mozingo and his wife, Sharon of Goldsboro; and four great-grandchildren, Jason Harris, Chase Allen Mozingo, Clay Edward Mozingo, and Macy Renee Mozingo, all of Goldsboro.  
</p>

<p>Family members will greet friends Wednesday night from 7 until 9 p.m. at Shumate-Faulk Funeral Home and at other times will be at the home of Janie Mozingo, 2804 Salem Church Road.
</p>
