WCDS JV wins tourney opener

HENDERSON -- Wayne Country Day opened play at the Coastal Plains Independent Conference basketball tournament with a 785-44 win over Faith Christian of Rocky Mount Thursday.
Brian Brock had 21 points to lead Wayne Country Day, while Chad Roberson had 13 and Lamar Carpenter 10.
Aaron Fly led Faith with 16, and Tyler Tripp added 11.
The Chargers play Greenfield School on Saturday at 4 p.m. for the CPIC JV boys championship.
